Cost:  $10.00 for Father & Daughter or $15.00 per family

Pictures Available:  $5.00 for 5x7 or $10.00 for (2)5x7 & 8x10

November Upcoming Events

• Parents, it was so nice to sit down with all of you during our fall parent/teacher conferences! Thank you for taking the time to come into room 9 and show your support, dedication and commitment to your child’s education!

• We had a great time on spirit day in room 9! We had a lot of fun dressing up in our costumes!  Halloween themed centers were a big hit with the students and we all really enjoyed our yummy treats!  Thanks for sending in items for our party!

Holiday Program Information

Our Holiday Program this year is a wonderful musical by Michael and Jill Gallina entitled "Of Mice and Mozart". 

Parents:  If your student is interested in a special acting, singing, or dancing role in "Of Mice and Mozart", please come to our auditions! Information below:

AUDITIONS: (All students grades 1 – 4 invited): Tuesday, Oct. 14, 3:05 – 4:00 PM  AND Wednesday, Oct. 15, 7:30 – 8:25 AM -  Both in the Sunset Gym. 

REHEARSALS WILL BE HELD  BEFORE SCHOOL (7:30 – 8:25) AND AFTER SCHOOL  (3:05 – 4:00), SO ANY STUDENT AUDITIONING MUST  BE ABLE TO ATTEND BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSALS.

What's New in Room 9?

In the last 3 weeks we've been very busy learning routines, expectations, all about Cougar PRIDE and getting to know the John Campbell campus.  We've also started digging into our First grade curriculum. Below is a little snapshot of what we've been working on:
Reading:

We just started Unit 1 of Reading Street, and have been working on blending and reading words with short vowel /a / in them. *Our Spelling tests will be on Fridays each week.

Math:

We’ve started Module 1 of Engage New York & have been working on number bonds and finding combinations of 6 and 7 this week.

Science:

We just started our “Animals 2x2" Science kit this week & we’re all super excited about it!

Below are some important dates to remember for September:

9/12 –Mileage Club Kick-off

(Wear tennis shoes each Friday for Mileage club & P.E.)

9/18- Open House 6:00-7:00 p.m.

9/23- PTO meeting 6:30-7:30

9/26- Spirit Day “Crazy Hair/Sock Day”

9/26- Book orders due

9/26- Movie Night @ Sunset Gym 6:30-8:00 p.m.
